Recently properly started my D & AD project with a fellow student Russel Hepton. We have chosen to do the the Diesel project, where we have to a create an illustrated interpretation of a musical track that is experienced by the viewer in an unconventional and pioneering way.
We have chosen are artist to be Chuck Berry who’s music has transcended generations. He earns respect to this day because he is truly an entertainer. Berry, also known as “The Father of Rock & Roll”, gained success by watching the audience’s reaction and playing accordingly, putting his listeners’ amusement above all else. The 2 songs we have chosen are ’ Johnny Be Good’ and ‘No Particular Way To Go’.
We have already had an idea about representing the song in a kind of flow chart. When we took this idea to the critique it had good feedback and had been given people to look at and ideas to pursue.
We are heading to London on Monday so we are going to go fine things for inspiration and take photos.
A favicon (short for “favorites icon”), also known as a page icon or an urlicon, is an icon associated with a particular website or webpage. A web designer can create such an icon, and many recent web browsers can then make use of them.
I didnt want to put a link to my profile on facebook from my website as i think it is unproffession, so i put a ‘like’ that i changed to recommend button so that can access my website from facebook and it will get share quicker. It was a simple process and the end result looks pretty cool. I think it looks really good at the top of the page as there is a black boarder around the edge so that you can see the profile pic aswell.
Today i handed in my finished website along with all the research i did. YAY!

I was intrigued about the ‘Visual Communication 2’ project, as I was going to be taught about building a website, which is something that I have wanted to do for a while, but not had the understanding behind it. It was a brand new area design for me and may be a possible area of something to do in the future.
The overall outcome of the project, I feel looks and works simple but affective. I felt that the website reflects me really well as it had the photo of my room, which made it personal to me. Learning from my mistake in the other project about research, I thought that area was strong in this project and is reflected in the knowledge I have now.
I felt one he the things that didn’t go so well was the sudden change in a technical part of the website it took a while for my to fix it, and didn’t have time to develop it. Another thing was that I had a long learning curve before I fully understood the concept of how html and css linked, but once this was resolved, I was fine.
What I felt that could have been improved was the time that I spent practicing with Dreamweaver, as this was technical its is on are own back near the end. I also think that the result of the portfolio page could have been improved. I was carried away with the codes; I just wanted to have something amazing rather than being simple. As I spent along time trying to change it at the end I just left it how it was. It still looked good.
Overall I have come away from this project very proud of what I have a learnt in such a short period of time.
I looked around the internet to find a better image vewier and i came across http://smoothgallery.jondesign.net it looked really nice and it seemed really straight forward like lightbox.

Once it was up and work i alters a few settings so that instead of pictures it said gallery, i did that by going into the java script for it and changing it in there. I also have to change the sizes of the images to 400x 350 and thumbnails to 100 x 75.
